“آپ میرا مذاق کیوں اڑارہے ہیں۔میں اب کھلونوں سے نہیں کھیلتی۔”وہ اٹھ کر اپنے کمرے کی طرف چلی گئی۔عابس تیزی سے اس کے پیچھے آیا۔

“خنساء۔”اس نے پکارا۔وہ نہ رکی۔پتہ نہیں دل کی عجیب حالت ہورہی تھی۔اسے رونا آرہا تھا۔اسے اپنے اوپر غصہ آرہا تھا کہ وہ عابس سے اتنا جھجک کیوں رہی ہے۔عابس پتہ نہیں اس کے بارے میں کیا سوچے گا۔عابس نے جب دیکھا کہ وہ رکی نہیں تو تیزی سے آگے بڑھ کر اسی سابقہ انداز میں اس کا ہاتھ پکڑ لیا۔

“لگتا ہے تم ناراض ہوگئی ہو۔چلو بھئی صلح کرلو۔تم جو کچھ کہو گی وہ تمہیں لے دوں گا۔”خنسا کا ہاتھ بھیگ گیا۔دل اتنی تیزی سے دھڑکنے لگا کہ عابس اس کی آواز بخوبی سن رہا ہے۔اس کا لمس بہت انوکھا سا محسوس ہورہا تھا۔حالانکہ یہ وہی عابس تھا جو اس کو کندھوں سے لگا کر کہانی سنایا کرتا تھا اور بہلایا کرتا تھا۔آرام سے اس کے ساتھ بیٹھ جایا کرتا تھا مگر یہ لمس عجیب تھا۔خود عابس بھی جھجک گیا۔اس کا نرم ملائم ہاتھ اس کے ہاتھ میں پگھل رہا تھا۔اس نے آہستگی سے اس کا ہاتھ چھوڑ دیا پھر بغیر وجہ کے ہنستے ہوئے بولا۔

“تم نے بتایا نہیں کہ تمہیں کیا چاہیے۔”شاید وہ اپنی بےساختہ کیفیت سے نکلنا چاہتا تھا مگر خنسا چپ چاپ اپنے کمرے میں آگئی۔عابس کو اپنے اوپر شدید غصہ آیا۔بھلا وہ کیا سوچتی ہوگی کہ اسے کیا ہوگیا ہے۔وہ اس قدر کمزور تو بلکل نہیں تھا
