Fatima asked, placing both her hands on her sides like a warrior woman, staring.

Hearing Ali's words, Fatima's mouth dropped open, her eyes widened.
She thought Ali had made fun of her. But the seriousness on Ali's face was giving her something else.

"آپ سے بات کرنے سے اچھا ہے میں ان دیواروں سے بات کر لوں۔ کم از کم یہ آپ سے زیادہ توجہ دیں گی میری باتوں کو۔"
اب وہ مسکرا دیا تھا۔
"بھئ ان دیواروں کے پاس کرنے کو تو کچھ ہے نہیں۔ یہ تو سارا دن ساری رات بھی تمہاری باتیں سن سکتی ہیں۔ لیکن میں تو کام کاج والا بندہ ہوں۔
صرف کام کی بات ہی دھیان سے سن سکتا ہوں۔"
"ارےےےے!! کیا مطلب آپ کا۔ میں فضول میں بولتی ہوں؟
کام والی بات نہیں کرتی؟"
فاطمہ نے دونوں ہاتھ لڑاکا عورتوں کی طرح پہلو پر رکھ ، گھور کر پوچھا تھا۔
"نہیں۔۔ تم تو الہام سناتی ہو۔"
علی کی بات سن کر فاطمہ کا منہ کھل گیا، آنکھیں پھیل گئیں۔
