Shaista asked her daughter with uncertainty in her eyes.

"I he..." Kunzal's language was stuttering.

Shaista shouted.

اس کی آواز اتنی اونچی تھی کہ دروازے کے پاس کھڑی کنزل کی ہم عمر سدرہ کو صاف سنائی دے رہی تھی۔یہ سنتے ہی اس کے چہرے پر مسکراہٹ آگئی۔

"یہ خبر تو گھر میں سب کو پتہ چلنی چاہیے۔َ"

سدرہ نے خود سے کہا اور پورے گھر میں یہ خبر پھیلا دی کہ کنزل بنا شادی کے ماں بننے والی ہے۔

:لڑکی کیا بکواس کر رہی ہو؟َ"دادی جان نے کنزل کو دیکھتے کرخت لہجے میں پوچھا۔

سب لوگ وہاں جمع ہو گئے تھے۔

"میں سچ کہہ رہی ہو دادی جان اگر آپ کو میری بات پر یقین نہیں ہے تو پھوپھو سے پوچھ لیں۔"

سدرہ نے جلدی سے کہا۔

دادی جان کے کہنے پر شائستہ اور کنزل کو بلایا گیا۔

شائستہ کو تو اپنے پیروں تلے زمین نکلتی ہوئی محسوس ہو رہی تھی۔اس کا سر شرمندگی سے جھک گیا تھا۔جس بیٹی پر اسے اتنا مان تھا اُسی نے اس کا سر جھکا دیا تھا۔

کنزل کی نظر اُس لاپرواہ شخص کی طرف اُٹھی جو سب کچھ جانتے ہوئے بھی انجان بنا کھڑا تھا۔

"شائستہ سدرہ کیا کہہ رہی ہے؟ کیا یہ سچ ہے؟" دادی جان نے سنجیدگی سے پوچھا۔

اس سے پہلے شائستہ کوئی جواب دیتی کنزل خود آگے آئی تھی۔اب چھپانے کا کوئی فائدہ نہیں تھا۔

سدرہ نے جو کہا وہ سب سچ ہے اور میں نے کچھ غلط نہیں کیا۔

"میرا نکاح جس انسان کے ساتھ ہوا اُسی کے بچے کی میں ماں بننے والی ہوں۔اور آپ کیوں خاموش کھڑے ہیں؟ سب کو سچ کیوں نہیں بتاتے؟آپ ہی کے بچے کی تو میں ماں بننے والی ہوں۔"

کنزل نے بھاری لہجے میں اُس شخص کے پاس آتے بےبسی سے کہا۔

سب لوگ دم سادھے کنزل کو دیکھ رہے تھے۔یہ انکشاف ناقابلِ یقین تھا۔

ہال میں چھائی خاموشی میں مقابل کا وزنی ہاتھ اٹھا تھا اور کنزل کے چہرے پر نشان چھوڑ گیا۔

"کیسی لڑکی ہو تم اپنا گناہ میرے سر ڈال رہی ہو؟ میں اپنے گھر کی عزت کے ساتھ ایسا کرنے سے پہلے مرنا پسند کروں گا ۔۔"

مقابل نے دھاڑتے ہوئے کہا۔

کنزل نے اپنے چہرے پر ہاتھ رکھے بےیقینی سے اپنے سامنے کھڑے انسان کو دیکھا تھا۔جس نے بھرے مجمعے میں اسے رسوا کردیا تھا۔
