“I heard you refused to marry me.” He said with a heavy sigh. Nimra, who was looking at her feet with her face down, started looking at the door with furtive eyes. She didn’t know where everyone had gone. The touch of his hand on her arm was stinging her badly. She pulled her arm again, feeling anxious.
“I haven’t finished speaking yet.” He said, increasing the pressure of his hand on her arm.

“I have to go.” She said with a smile.

“اگر تم نے اس وجہ سے انکار کیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں پسند نہیں تو ٹھیک ہے۔تمہاری ناپسندیدگی بھی سر آنکھوں پہ۔میرے لیے میری پسندیدگی کافی ہے۔چونکہ تم ایک مشرقی لڑکی ہو تو شادی کے بعد خودبخود مجھے پسند کرنے لگو گی ہے نا۔”وہ تھوڑا سا جھک کر اس کا چہرہ دیکھنے کی کوشش کرنے لگا۔
“مجھے جانا ہے۔”وہ روہانسی ہوکر بولی۔
“بات سنو نمرہ۔”وہ ایکدم اتنی سنجیدگی سے بولا کہ وہ سب بھول کر اس کا چہرہ دیکھنے لگی۔
“تم اگر اس وجہ سے انکار کرتی کہ تمہیں میں اچھا نہیں لگتا تو مجھے بلکل برا نہیں لگتا لیکن تم نے کسی اور کو مجھ پہ ترجیح دی۔تمہیں کوئی اور اچھا لگتا ہے یہ سب میری برداشت سے باہر ہے۔یہ جو تمہارا چہرہ ہے نا۔”
اس نے ایک ہاتھ سے اس کی ٹھوڑی پکڑی۔
“اس سے میں بہت محبت کرتا ہوں۔اگر اس چہرے کو دیکھنے کا حق کسی اور کو دو گی تو یہ میری برداشت سے باہر ہوگا۔”زوار نے اس کے چہرے سے ہاتھ ہٹالیا تھا لیکن وہ تو جیسے منجمد ہوکر رہ گئی تھی۔زوار نے ایک گہری نگاہ اس کے سفید پڑتے چہرے پہ ڈالی۔
