وہ آیا تھا. مجھے سلام کر کے گیا ہے. بڑا ہی سعادت مند بچہ ہے. دادو کے جواب پر اشمل کو غصہ آنے لگا 

میرا نہیں پوچھا (کمینہ، ذلیل دل میں کوستی باہر چل دی). آہستہ سا دروازہ اندر دھکیلا تو وہ سامنے ہی کھڑا اپنی الماری میں کچھ تلاش کر رہا تھا. اشمل دروازے ساتھ ہی ٹیک لگا کر کھڑی ہو گئی. 

عجلت سے پلٹتے نظر اشمل پر پڑی جو خاصے رف حلیے میں تھی. بال بھی بےترتیب بکھرے تھے.

وہ اُس کی سرخ ہوتی آنکھوں سے نظریں ہٹاتا دوبادہ اپنے کام میں مگن ہو گیا. فائلیں، یو ایس بی اور نہ جانے کیا کیا تھا جو وہ ایک خاص ترتیب سے الماری میں سیٹ کر رہا تھا. تقریباً پندرہ منٹ کمرے میں دو نفوس ہونے کے باوجود بھی خاموشی چھائی رہی. دونوں ہی ایک دوسرے کی موجودگی کو بھرپور محسوس کرتے ہوئے انجان بن رہے تھے.

میرے میسج کا جواب کیوں نہیں دیا ......؟ ؟ بلآخر اشمل کے صبر کا پیمانہ لبریز ہوا وہ اس سے زیادہ خاموش نہیں رہ سکتی تھی.

میں مصروف تھا ___ اسفند نے بغیر دیکھے جواب دیا.

تو اب دے دیں کہ یہ تصویر کس کی ہے ........ ؟؟ اشمل کے سوال پر اسفند نے ایک نظر تصویر کی طرف دیکھا اشمل کو اُس کی آنکھوں میں اُن کے لیے محبت اور احترام دکھائی دیا جبکہ عمران کی آنکھوں میں محبت، احترام کے علاوہ ناراضگی اور غصہ بھی تھا.

تمہیں اچانک اس تصویر سے اتنی دلچسپی کیوں ہو گئی ہے ....... ؟؟

وہ اصل میں کل میرے __ اشمل عمران کا ذکر کرتے کرتے خاموش ہو گئی جبکہ اسفند نے اس کے اچانک خاموش ہونے پر اسے مڑ کر دیکھا

میری دوست پوچھ رہی تھی. اشمل نے اسفند کی آنکھوں میں دیکھتے ہوئے کہا

تمہاری دوست میرے کمرے میں کیا کر رہی تھی ......؟ ؟ اسفند کو کھٹکا ہوا.

تو اور کہاں بیٹھتی دوسرے کمرے میں دادو سو رہی تھیں. اشمل نے منہ بگاڑتے جواب دیا. پھر دوبارہ خاموشی چھا گئی. 

پھر بتایا نہیں کس کی تصویر ہے ...... ؟؟ اشمل کی سوئی وہاں ہی اٹکی ہوئی تھی.
