جواب میں داور آنکھیں گھما کر رہ گیا، پھر کچھ دیر تک قمرین کا خفا خفا سا چہرہ تکنے کے بعد نرمی سے پوچھنے لگا ۔ "تم کیا چاہتی ہو؟"

"میں چاہتی ہوں ہم بالکل اجنبی بن جائیں ۔ جیسے کبھی ملے ہی نہیں ۔" وہ مضبوط لیکن ڈھکے چھپے سے منتی انداز میں بولی تھی ۔

"یہ تو ناممکن ہے، محبت ہوتیں تو جانے دیتا، ضد بھی ہو اس لیئے بانہوں میں تو آنا پڑے گا ۔" مشہور ڈائلاگ کو تروڑ مروڑ کر ادا کرتا وہ خود ہی ہنس دیا ۔ جواب میں کچھ کہنا تو دور قمرین نے کوئی تاثر دینا بھی ضروری نہیں سمجھا تھا، جس پر وہ مزید گویا ہوا ۔ "تم بھول جاؤ، داور یوسف کو! بس احمر یزدانی کو یاد رکھو ۔ تم مجھے اپنے اور اپنی فیملی کے ساتھ احمر یزدانی ہی پاؤگی، داور یوسف میں باقی دنیا کے لیئے ہوں ۔" جواباً جب قمرین کی خاموشی ہنوز قائم رہی تب وہ طویل سانس خارج کرتا بولنے لگا.  "اچھا تمہیں پتہ ہے؟ میری جو ماما تھیں نا، وہ بھی میرے پاپا کے کام سے انجان تھیں ۔ بہت خوش رہتی تھیں وہ میرے پاپا کے ساتھ ۔ یہاں تک کے میری پیدائش کے چند سال بعد ہی وہ قدرتی موت مر گئیں ۔ خاور یوسف میں لاکھ برائیاں تھیں لیکن ماما سے کبھی بیوفائی نہیں کی انہوں نے، ان کے دنیا سے جانے کے بعد بھی !! اس بات کا سب سے بڑا گواہ میں خود ہوں ۔ وہ مجھے ہروقت اپنے ساتھ رکھتے تھے ۔۔۔۔۔۔ مانو! تم تو پھر بھی بریو ہو، اچھی خاصی لڑاکا ہو، میری ماما تو بہت معصوم تھیں ۔ جب ماما ہنسی خوشی بغیر کوئی تکلیف جھیلے میرے پاپا کے ساتھ رہتی رہیں تو تم بھی تھوڑا اعتبار کرلو مجھ پر، پوری کوشش کرونگا تمہیں داور یوسف کے سائے سے بھی دور رکھوں ۔"

اپنی اپنی جگہ دونوں ہی یہ سوچے بیٹھے تھے کہ ایک دوسرے کو سامنے پاتے ہی دماغ ٹھکانے لگا دینگے، تھپڑ جڑ دینگے، منہ توڑ دینگے، لیکن اب جب روبرو تھے تو کچھ بھی سخت کہنا مشکل ہو رہا تھا دونوں کے لیئے ۔

"یہ تمہاری کی ماما کی خوش قسمتی تھی لیکن میری بدقسمتی یہ ہے کہ تمہارے بہت ہی وفادار باپ نے میرے باپ کو قتل کیا تھا، وہ بھی میری آنکھوں کے سامنے ! مجھے بتاؤ اگر میرا باپ تمہارے باپ کو تمہاری آنکھوں کے سامنے مار دیتا تو کیا تم تب بھی میری محبت کا دم بھرتے ؟ مجھے یقین ہے تم مجھے اور میرے گھر والوں کو جان سے مار چکے ہوتے ۔" قمرین کا انداز لڑنے والا ہرگز نہیں تھا، وہ بہت بکھرے بکھرے انداز میں اسے آئینہ دکھا رہی تھی جس میں داور اپنا عکس نہیں دیکھ سکا اور نظریں چرا گیا ۔

"یہی کرتے ناں تم ؟" وہ اس کے نظریں چرانے پر مسکرائی ۔

"ہاں شاید میں ایسا ہی کرتا، لیکن تم داور یوسف جیسی حیوان صفت انسان نہیں ہو ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔" داور کہنے لگا جب قمرین ہاتھ اٹھا کر اسے ٹوک گئی ۔

"لیکن میں قمرین مغل ہوں !  سزا دینا میرے بس میں نہیں ہے' تو معاف کرنا بھی ناممکن ہے میرے لیئے ۔" قطعیت سے کہتی وہ اپنے تئیں داور کو لاجواب کر چکی تھی لیکن داور فوراَ ہی کوٹ سے گن نکال کر بولا تھا ۔

"یہ پکڑو اور مجھے جتنی چاہے گولیاں مار دو، اور بدلہ لے لو ۔ اگر میں بچ گیا تو تم مجھ سے شادی کر لینا، ٹھیک ہے ؟"

"داور یوسف!!! " وہ عاجز سی ہو کر بھینچی آواز میں چلائی ۔
